Call of the Trail
The adventurous sort will find hundreds of grand hiking trails and destinations nearby, the finest among them being in the celebrated Lakes Basin Recreation Area. Most trailheads are but a brief jaunt—a twenty-minute drive—from your cabin door.
-
Many a local recommends Mr. Tom DeMund’s splendid volume, “Feather River Country Adventure Trails,” a true map to the region's best rambles. We keep a copy or two ready in the office should you wish to check it out for a spell.

Fisherman's Paradise
Some of the very best trout fishing in all the Sierras is but a brisk walk from your cabin, right here on the Middle Fork of the Feather River. Should that not be enough sport, roughly twenty pristine lakes are tucked away within a twenty-minute carriage ride of the camp.
-
Fear not if you've left your tackle box behind! We keep a few fishing poles and gear handy for our guests to borrow.
-
The gift shop keeps a small inventory of tackle for sale, including a splendid array of locally hand-tied flies.
-
A kind note: We do not sell fishing licenses here at the camp; the nearest place to secure one is the hardware store in Blairsden.

Links of the Valley
For the devotee of the small white ball, a proper challenge awaits! Five magnificent, championship golf courses—including the likes of Plumas Pines, Whitehawk Ranch, and The Dragon at Nakoma—are all within a swift twenty-minute drive. Should a more modest purse be desired, a delightful, albeit challenging, nine-hole round may be had just five miles hence at the Feather River Park Resort.

Provisions & Sundries
For your necessities and a bit of fancy shopping, the twin hamlets of Blairsden-Graeagle are a mere five miles distant. These side-by-side villages offer just about everything a good camp visitor might require: a small grocery, a gas pump, the hardware store, and several charming gift shops and eateries. For larger provisions, you may travel to the supermarkets in Portola (fifteen miles) or Quincy (eighteen miles).
Our Own Little Shop: Do stop by the small gift shop in the main office. You may find a keepsake, such as a proper T-shirt or mug, and may purchase necessities like candy, coffee, charcoal, and bug spray. We also keep a grand selection of books, board games, and playing cards for guests to borrow.
