On‑Site Camp Host
Seasonal, Part-time, April through September
Role Summary
The On‑Site Camp Host is the primary on‑site representative for guests and visitors, responsible for maintaining a welcoming, safe, and orderly campground environment. This role combines customer service, light maintenance, administrative tasks, coordination and assistance of housekeeping staff, and emergency response to ensure a positive experience for campers and smooth day‑to‑day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Qualifications

Guest Concierge: greet campers on arrival, handle check-ins/check-outs, explain camp policies, amenities, provide recommendations for hiking, dining, and activities

Quality Control: ensure all cabins meet camp cleaning standard before the next guest arrives

Turnover Coordination: help manage the cleaning schedule and act as the point of contact for housekeeping and maintenance contractors

Site Maintenance: Perform light maintenance, restocking firewood, rake pine needles, ensuring grounds are tidy and report larger issues to the owner

Safety Monitoring: Monitor safety and security: perform regular patrols, report hazards, assist with wildlife encounters per protocol

Point of Contact: enforce campground rules and quiet hours, resolve guest concerns, respond to emergencies, contact responders, escalate conflicts as needed

Shopkeeper: assist with point‑of‑sale transactions in small retail store, and basic cleaning of host site accommodations.

High school diploma or equivalent

Previous hospitality, park ranger, campground, or customer‑service experience preferred

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills; ability to handle difficult situations calmly

Basic maintenance skills and ability to learn equipment operation (ride‑on electric cart, log splitter, etc.) preferred

Ability to work independently and as part of a small team; reliable and flexible

Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Comfortable living on‑site periodically during assignments
